We are all mad here!!

Hello peeps!

Welcome back for another instalment! I have a fun layout to share today and something that you don't see everyday. I spent New Years in Las Vegas, which is an amazing city. Even more amazing was this photo that I took of the lawn outside Caesars Palace. Just in case you can't quite work out what is happening, they are literally "painting the grass green".... It reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, painting the rose's red....

I began with a beautiful piece of paper by Fancy Pants - Charming which I stenciled  using Prima modeling paste. Once dry, I used Brusho in olive green and lime green and sprinkled them over the stenciling. I then sprayed with water till I was happy with the result.

Again I needed to let it dry... I helped this along by using my Heat it tool by Tim Holtz. Next I hand painted the chipboard using Dylusions paints.

I then layered different washi tapes in a criss cross pattern under where I was going to place the photo. I also stamped and cut out the mushroom image using a Dylusions stamp set - Doodle parts. I had used it as a mask for a journal page and really loved the green leafy pattern that was left on it. I thought it fitted in well with Wonderland theme so I layered it under the title. I then roughened up the edges of the page and added some 'bling' in the way of sequins.

I hope you enjoy my layout.
Till next time

Wedding Anniversary

Hello Everyone!!

This month is very special, it is my 20th wedding anniversary so I thought I would take this opportunity to make my hubby an anniversary card to celebrate. I also shared this card on the Auzz Trinklets N Krafts blog.

Here are a couple of photos that show most of the items I used. I will list them all at the end of the post.

I began by stamping the image (whimsy stamps - bird swing) onto watercolour paper using Memento angel pink ink so that the image would have a 'no lines' finished look. I then painted the image using Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours - I have many different watercolour sets, but this is by far my favourite. The background was painted using a wash of Lindys colour spray - Merci beaucoup mint.

I then ran this through the bigshot using a circle die. I cut a frame using a round rose frame die (unbranded)  and glued them to my backing sheet which came from the Magnolia Lane paper collection from ultimate crafts. The large pink flowers started out white. I used the wicking method to colour them with bubblegum pink dylusions ink spray and then added glossy accents to the petals and rubbed them in ultrafine glitter.

I like to adhere bulky items to cards and LO's using the Finnabair 3D matte gel. It dries clear but flexible so will not crack off if the card is bent. I cut a small piece of cheesecloth and died it with Lindys stamp gang spray in curiouser chartreuse. I also edged the yellow flowers using Dr PH Martins Bombay ink in white.  I then stuck it all down.

I finished it off by inking all the edges in Versa Magic chalk ink - Persimmon and Oasis Green and Kaisercraft ink in Berry and backing it in a matching colour. I then added the words LOVE YOU using washi tape by recollections.

Thank - you for visiting, see you next month.

Pop it up - Layered tag

Hi everyone,

Today I would like to share with you a tag. The stamp is a digi stamp by the very talented Ppinky Dolls. This tag was made for the Southern Girls Challenge Blog.

I began by printing the image out 3 times. I then had to decide which elements were going to be on each level. I then coloured the areas starting from the base and working up. For this project I used copic markers.

As you can see I colour test colour combinations on the side of my paper,  and I labeled the pictures with the layers so I didn't get confused. I always do the top layer for each area in the most detail.

Next I fussy cut all the layers.

Once this was done, I used adhesive foam to place the pieces together. For the tiny leaves and heart flowers I used a tiny bit of 3D matte gel as it would be impossible to cut the foam that small.

Once the image was put together it was time to start on the tag. I used a pre-printed tag from Prima, then die cut some trees using the Tim Holtz thinlits die - Woodlands.

I then chose some flowers out of my stash that complemented the colours in the picture, and moved them around until I was happy with the way they looked. I stuck these down with Prima 3D matte gel, which is my favourite for gluing down bulky items because when it dries it is flexible, so won't crack and fall off.

To finish off I inked the tag in distress ink, and added some ribbons and some 'now and then' word stickers from MME which I inked with black pen.

Please see below for a list of products used. I hope you enjoyed this post.... if so feel free to leave me a message :)

Till next time.

Summer Fun

Hello everyone!!

Welcome to my new blog. For my first ever post I have decided to share with you a layout that I have created for Auzz Trinklets n crafts DT team. The theme was 'in the greens' so I have created a fun summer themed layout of my family enjoying the pool using greens and blues.

This began with a sheet of paper by 13 Arts - Life's a beach.  I then used a stencil to create a line of 'bubbles' using the TCW278 - circle explosion stencil and Prima modelling paste.

Once that was dry I used a range of izinks in opaline, iris, bamboo and topaz and dripped them across the bubbles, spraying water onto it as needed.  Once this was dry I added the circle stamps using two  bobunny stamp sets - Elements and Urban.

I coloured the circles in with Gelatos. I then used a background stamp grid - kaisercraft and gold stazon ink to add the grid pattern, hand drew some black swirls and used Lindy's flat black spray ink to add drips of black. I roughened up the edges of the paper and also used the black spray to edge the paper.

To finish off I backed the Tim Holtz word stickers onto black cardstock as well as matting the photo and added these. I cut a prima flutter vine and added that. Lastly I added Glass pebbles that I had painted the back in gold and added an embellishment by My2Angles.

I hope you enjoy this weeks project. Thanks for visiting.
Hugs.  Clarinda xx
