Well it has been ages since I have posted up on here and I really want to make it a more regular occurrence, so I am looking into entering some competitions.... This is very exciting and a bit nerve wracking as I have never done anything like this before.
So first up is the Dusty Attic challenge for July. I absolutely adore the colours in their mood board, and as I am a major Dusty Attic fan anyway, I thought this would be super easy, lol.
Ok so here is my take on this. The photo is from when I was at Uni and I was asked to cut the Harmony Day cake to celebrate cultural diversity.
I used a sheet of paper by American Crafts from their confetti collection - I am a bit of a paper hoarder so will often pull out papers that are from some ago. The orange flags were from the bottom edge of the paper.
I stencilled the design using modelling paste. I then made the flags and ribbons and added flowers to match. The Dusty Attic chipboard I used was Geometric Border which I cut to fit and embossed.
I then added sequins in turquoise and silver to finish it off.
I hope you enjoy my first ever entry to a challenge!!
Till next time,
Clarinda xx
